Loughrea U14 Girls Power on against Creggs (Challenge Match)
Loughrea’s U14 girls delivered a confident and free-flowing performance in their challenge match against Creggs, serving up an afternoon full of energy, skill, and end-to-end rugby.
The home side hit their stride early, with Leah Headd opening the scoring after a strong carry to the line. Emma Concannon added the conversion and remained heavily involved throughout the half. Bianca Musharu crossed next, with Emma again on target from the tee, before Emma added a try of her own.
Loughrea continued to build momentum as Ella Lynch sliced through for a well-taken score, and Bianca powered over for her second try of the day. Another Concannon conversion rounded off a lively first half for the hosts.
In a great display of sportsmanship and balance for the challenge match, Emma Concannon switched over to play with Creggs for the second half—and wasted no time making her mark. She touched down twice for the visitors, helping spark a strong Creggs spell.
Loughrea, however, kept their attacking shape. Clíona Ní Ghréacháin finished off a sweeping move for a try, followed by a determined score from Chloe Walsh, with Aoibheann Starr coolly adding the extras. Lexi Ward then darted over for another well-worked try before Chloe struck again to close out the scoring.
Both sides showed excellent commitment, clever handling, and great spirit, making the fixture an entertaining outing for players and supporters alike.
