Rugby Roundup – 1st February

Loughrea U14 Girls made the trip up the N17 on Saturday morning to face Claremorris/Tuam Colts RFC and delivered another impressive team display in a highly competitive encounter. While the scoreboard finished 37–5 in Loughrea’s favour, the hosts pushed hard throughout and gave very little away, making the visitors work for every score.

Loughrea were well organised, with outhalf Emma Concannon marshalling play superbly and allowing the backs to exploit space with pace and precision. Tries came from Ella McTighe, Aoibhinn Starr (3), Caoimhe Moran, Chloe Walsh (2), with Concannon adding a conversion to cap a fine all-round performance.

This was a real squad effort, with every player putting in a huge shift and showing great teamwork, togetherness and fight right to the final whistle. Plenty of positives to take into the final two league games, and a thoroughly deserved win for the girls on a very good day for the club.
